Nature Walk & Picnic

Local campaign group Save Swallow’s Wood [1] are organising a nature walk and picnic around the Swallow’s Wood nature reserve on Sunday 19th August.

Pat Ellison and a visiting ecologist, who knows the local area, will lead the walk. Together they'll be on hand to share lots of information about the plants and wildlife on our doorstep. Walkers will also have the opportunity to visit specific sites in and around the nature reserve that would be affected by the bypass proposals.

The walk will begin at 11am from the starting point on Crossgate Lane, Tintwistle (meet at the public footpath sign just after the entrance to Arnfield Reservoir).

The picnic will start at 1pm, meeting at the information board at the Tintwistle entrance to the nature reserve.
