In response to queries on this matter, the Highways Agency have replied: "All previous submissions made within the objection period for the first publication (31 Jan 06 to 5 May 06) are considered valid. However previous submissions received after the end of the objection period are not accepted by the Highways Agency as being validly made. However, any late submissions [i.e., those received after 5th May 2006) will be brought to the attention of the Inspector as part of the normal inquiry process. This is stated in the Environmental Statement Volume 1 para 1.1.11 ' all objections to, representations about, and support for the Scheme, as published in January 2006, which have been received to date, will be brought before the Independent Inspector at a Public Inquiry'." We're have asked them to explain what the difference is between a "valid"
and an "invalid" objection. More information will be posted
here as soon it is becomes available.
